Stunning 19th C Elkington Gilt & Silver Plated Box
We are selling this absolutely stunning Elkington gilt and silver plated jewel casket which has remained in its own original velvet fitted box. The piece must have been specially commissioned by Silversmiths Elkington of Liverpool as it is such a 'one off ' piece. The box itself is rich deep blue velvet and silk lined. The casket deeply cast with swans as feet, cavorting cherubs, men on chariots and mystical creatures. Deep blue/purple silk lined with small buttons to the lid.
Measuring 11 1/2 inches in length (actual jewel casket) and height 4 inches. Stamped to base Elkington (see picture for identification marks). In wonderful original condition.
