Fine quality little early 20th.c. Queen Anne style bureau bookcase with exceptional yew wood veneers c.1920. Just 28″ wide with a glazed bookcase top with two adjustable shelves over a fall front bureau base with two short and two long drawers of graduated depth. Open the fall to reveal a leather writing surface and a lovely fitted interior of small drawers and pigeon holes, a lockable centre cupboard, hidden compartments and access to a space for documents below. Double arch cornice and shaped glazing. Particularly well-figured yew wood veneers to the front and sides. Crossbanded fall and drawer fronts, raised mouldings and shaped bracket feet. Quality brass handles and oak drawer linings. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
