Small Welsh Oak and Pine Settle c1760

A beautiful little 4ft Welsh Oak and Pine Settle of traditional form and highly sought after small proportions, Pembrokeshire c1760. Constructed from quality heavy slow grown oak with a strong and sturdy frame and heavy two plank seat.
In superb condition with deep warm colour and wonderful grain. Having a gently sloping back and perfect seat height it is most comfortable. Historically restored with backboards and front stretcher replaced. Beautifully shaped arms with chamfered supports and traditional Pembrokeshire sled feet of gorgeous design.
A much sought after piece of Welsh country antique furniture this settle is both strong and stable and suitable for daily use.
We at Welsh Vernacular are renowned for the quality of the settles we sell, they are highly practical items and look as well in a hall or kitchen as they do in a living room or conservatory. We often sell them to people looking for attractive storage solutions as well as seating, they are great for storing away items such as wellingtons and walking boots or your firelighters and kindling for the stove, horse riding tack, painting and decorating and odd job items that may freeze or perish if left in an outbuilding.
Both practical and comfortable these antique pieces could not be more suited to modern requirements.
