A handsome small antique Victorian gothic carved oak writing table or desk dating from circa 1850. In a dark stained oak it features an over-sailing top, above a single frieze drawer with attractively carved front and single brass drop handle. To the top is a raised gallery with shaped and carved sides and a carved pediment. It stands on square tapered legs united by a central cross-stretcher. A well-proportioned piece, it is a good size, offering lots of work space but not too large. With good colour and patina, could be used as a desk or hall table.

Solid and sturdy. Good colour and patina. Marks, scuffs and wear commensurate with age. A few small splits to the edges of the top.
