Very smart little mid 19th.c. mahogany side table with drawers c.1840. Well figured flame mahogany veneered top with rounded corners and crossbanded edges. Over two drawers lined in green silk. Solid mahogany drawer fronts with ebony inlay and stringing and the original and unusual gilded brass handles and backplates. The drawer fronts are repeated as dummies on the rear of the table, complete with handles. Matching inlaid detail to the sides. Raised on long slim turned legs retaining the original brass cup castors. Repairs to the veneers on the dummy drawer fronts, otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
