Unusual little desk or writing table in birch and birdseye maple c.1880. Useful small dimensions, just 35½" wide. Original green leather writing surface set within a birdeye maple veneered surround and ogee moulded edge. Over a good sized oak lined drawer in the front of the desk. Drawer front, sides and rear of the top veneered in birdseye maple with beautiful hand painted decoration of various recognisable flowering garden plants. Raised on turned and tapering birch legs with crisp turned and fluted detail. Some minor old wear to the top, generally excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
Part of a suite of antique furniture including wardrobe, bed and bedside cabinets.
