Small Mahogany Bedroom or Office Cabinet.
This is a slim 2 door mahogany cupboard of small size. It is fitted with 2 columns of adjustable shelves.
Georgian in style, it is made of solid straight grain mahogany has panelled doors and bracket feet. It dates to the first half of the 19th century.
Inside, the cabinet is divided with a central partition and has 8 adjustable or removable shelves, all of which are original. These are made of pine and faced with mahogany - making 10 pigeon holes in total, each being 10.5 inches wide and 15.5 inches deep
A very simple and practical design. It may originally have had many uses, a filing cabinet for an estate office perhaps or a small housekeepers cupboard? It would work well as a bedroom clothes cabinet or equally for a bathroom, or study.
The left hand door has retaining bolts and the right hand door a working lock and key.
Condition -
The panel of the left hand door has an old vertical crack line. It is now solid. The cabinet is in very good condition throughout.
