Charming little rustic elm bench or hall seat c.1820. Just 53" long. Low three plank backrest with scratch carved geometric designs either side of a large heart motif. With slightly sloping rear stiles and shaped arms over a seat made from a single board of particularly good grain. Deep apron with a small drawer in the front (an unusual feature). Broad stiles with shaped brackets to the front and sides. Excellent colour and condition, solid and sturdy, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
