Small 18th century French oak serpentine commode commode serpentine commode serpentine chest of drawers %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
Really lovely and quite unusual French c18th oak serpentine commode with all original brass handles and escutcheons.
The size is what I find so charming about this piece, as typically, you will find them considerably larger and a bit more restrictive on where you might be able to place it. This will fit well into most positions and is also a good decorative piece.
Fantastic warm colour tones throughout and the brass has cleaned and polished nicely too.
The top you will notice has had an infill at some point in its life, although has been done well and does not draw attention when you see it for real.
Good condition and has been fully restored, ready for another 200 + years of daily use.
Measuring:
32 1/4” or 82cm high
37 3/4” or 96cm wide
20 3/4” or 53cm deep
