A beautiful pair of simulated rosewood regency dining chairs, extremely elegant and wonderfully carved. The back rails are intricately inlaid with brass and at some point in the last 20 years both have been re-caned. Because cane was not meant to be sat on directly they come with a pair of squab cushions which protect the cane and stop posteriors from gaining a very complicated pattern. They were painted when made, by clever artists to look just like rosewood, a much scarcer and more expensive timber by far. They certainly look the part, there is very little wear to the 200 year old finish even now.
