Description
Here is an example of a superb quality set of 8 original antique French Louis XV style oak upholstered kitchen-dining chairs, circa 1890, from the 2nd Empire period. The drop-in (removable) seats are in excellent condition having have been newly reupholstered in top quality taupe colour chenille. The seats are firm but comfortable. The set consists of six side chairs and two armchairs. The pair of armchairs boasts an elegant shaped top rail and floral carved arms. The side chairs are of similar design with shaped reeded spindle backs below an elegant shaped top rail. The chair frames features an elegant shaped Louis XV style reeded frieze with very pretty cabriole legs to the front and sabre legs to the rear (a sign of quality). The legs are united by an elegant reeded cross-stretcher for added sturdiness. The chairs are very comfortable, solid in joint and would look good in either a traditional or contemporary setting.
The chairs feature a rich golden oak colour. As they boast the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received.
These chairs would look superb in the kitchen or dining room. They would certainly grace any home and are a great investment as they are extremely functional. So don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.

This set of dining chairs is in excellent condition. This is a “true” set of dining chairs i.e. they have not been matched together from smaller sets of chairs. Displaying a beautiful rich golden oak patina, they are of excellent quality, with a very robust design and are heavy in weight. The seat frames and chair joints are all solid. There are no breaks to the backs or legs of any of the chairs. This set of chairs retains the original polish, which is why the chairs boast such a rich golden oak colour. The drop-in seats have been newly reupholstered in top quality taupe colour chenille. The upholstery is therefore clean, free from stains or marks. All chairs are solid in joint and ready to be used.

A two-man delivery to any address in mainland England & Wales is £89. For delivery to Scotland & Ireland, please email for a quote. If you wish to avoid the delivery cost, you can collect the item in person. Here is an example of a superb quality set of 8 original antique French Louis XV style oak upholstered kitchen-dining chairs, circa 1890, from the 2nd Empire period.
