This is a set of 8 antique dining chairs. An English, mahogany and leather seat with Chippendale revival taste, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

Generously sized, ornate suite of 8 dining chairs for the grandest of dining rooms
Displaying a desirable aged patina throughout
Select stocks to the frame show fine grain interest and deep russet hues
Vibrant red leather over traditionally stuffed drop-in cushions with minor ageing

Excellent Chippendale revival taste with delightful pierced seat backs
Graced with the typical 'Chippendale' ears to the canted corners of the cresting rail
Exquisite detail accentuates the back splat with scroll and ribbon motif
Side rails host diamond shaped patera in relief against mottled frieze

Elegant, sinuous arms with shaped rests over serpentine supports for the pair of carvers
Superb broad knees with decorative scroll forms, lobed apron uniting each side
Standing upon cabriole front legs terminating in fascinating ball and claw feet
Gently splayed and canted square section rear legs fall away from the back rest
