Set of 4 Willam IV Button-Back Dining Chairs antique georgian victorian %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
This attractive set of antique dining chairs date from c.1820s. They have what we believe to be walnut frames with scrolled button backs. They have sprung seats and are supported on turned and reeded front legs and swept back legs. The front legs terminate in castors, some of which are original metal and ceramic castors and some of which are brass replacements. The chairs are upholstered in a patterned red velvet-type material which is not original.

Condition: Overall this set of chairs are in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and they are overall a little faded. The chairs are solid and usuable but do have some movement in the joints. Four of the roundels at the top of the backs are missing and those that are present have some loss. Some of the chairs have replacement castors. The upholstery is more modern, but does have some wear, grubbiness and slight fading.
