Circa 1860, quality set of 12 Scottish Victorian mahogany dining chairs. The chairs have a shaped and curved top rail, and in the centre there is a lovely cross bar with foliate carving beneath. The large brown/reddish stuffover leather seats have been recently re-leathered and re-webbed, and are finished with leather piping and brass studs. The back legs are square, tapering and slightly out swept. The front legs are turned at the top, faceted below and finishing on a raised turned toe. The chairs retain their original colour and patination and are in excellent condition.
