Fabulous set of four late 19th.c. Gothic oak dining chairs. Tall backs topped with a Maltese cross at the apex of a pierced Gothic tracery arch between tall architectural finials. Carved leaf detail to the side rails, padded backrest and another pierced arch below. Loose seat pad with canted corners over an extraordinary carved apron with more Gothic architectural detail, continued on the sides. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops, the backrests and seats have been freshly upholstered in a superb patterned fabric by Zoffany.
