Set 6 William IV bar back mahogany dining chairs
Antique set of 6 William IV/Regency/early Victorian 19C bar back mahogany dining chairs.
Date from 1820 to 1850, most likely William IV.
Very desirable and attractive design, with tapered octagonal front legs.
A great rare find, with a lovely colour, age, patina and charm.
Solid chairs, with no loose joints.
The seats have recently been reupholstered in a very heavy weight upholstery fabric, with a natural, light cream/oatmeal colour.
Overall maximum dimensions
Chair 49cmW x 53cmD x 88.5cmH (44.5cmH seat when sat on).
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, repairs and alterations, as is always the way with antique furniture of this age. The chairs have had historic repairs as you would expect...but all is good and solid now. Historic woodworm holes, believed extinct, that we have treated for good measure. There is a small chip missing from the back of one chair.
