Description:
Here is a fine quality antique set of six English Georgian Chippendale style mahogany dining chairs, circa 1800 - 1820, with newly upholstered seats, in excellent condition. The set consists of four side chairs and two armchairs. The chair frames have been glued and the traditionally French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore the patination and colour of an excellent standard. The chairs are constructed of solid mahogany and feature a serpentine top rail, above a finely executed pierced fretwork central splat, flanked by vertical rails. Incorporating a drop-in seat design, the seat frames are finely moulded. The seats have been newly upholstered in top quality hardwearing silk damask upholstery, with traditional hessian material to the underside. Therefore, the seats are in excellent and clean condition, with no marks. The seats are firm, but comfortable you do not sink into the seat. The chairs rest on moulded block legs to the front, with sabre legs to the rear.
The armchairs mirror the design of the singles, with the addition of two splayed, shaped scroll end arms, secured by shaped vertical supports. Please note, this is a true set of chairs they have not been matched together from smaller sets of similar chairs.
The chairs feature a rich dark brown mahogany colour. As they boast the original polish, they have a lovely colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
The chairs would look superb in the dining or boardroom. They would certainly grace any home and are a great investment as they are extremely functional. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.

These Chippendale dining chairs are in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, frames and legs, but nothing significant considering the age of them. The chair frames have been glued and the traditionally French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore the patination and colour of an excellent standard. The seats have been newly upholstered therefore, the fabric is in excellent and clean condition, with no marks. If you do not like the colour/style of the upholstery, we can re-cover the seats in a fabric of your choice. If you would like the seats re-covered, please contact us for a quote. The chairs retain the original polish therefore, they boast a fantastic patination and colour, which cannot be recreated if the chairs were re-polished. This is a true set from the day of their construction (they have not been matched together from smaller sets of similar chairs). The chairs are solid in joint they do not wobble and they are ready to use.

We offer free delivery to mainland England, Wales, and Southern Scotland (anywhere south of Stirling). We do not offer free delivery to locations north of Stirling in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or any British Islands off the mainland for example, the Isle of Man, Isle of White and Channel Islands. Delivery times are usually 1-4 weeks depending on location we aim to deliver the majority of items within 2 weeks. All items are professionally packaged and fully insured in transit, therefore, we can assure you, your items will be securely protected in transit and arrive safely with you.
