Quality Balloon Backs - Serpentine Front - c1870

A very pleasing and quality set of four mid-Victorian mahogany dining chairs presented in excellent condition.

The styling is classic ovalled 'balloon back' with moulded upper form and flared detail at the crest.

With nipped waist and serpentine front the overall effect is elegant and well proportioned.

Adding to the desirability of this set are the tapered and turned front legs with attractive slender foot below the lower bulbous ring.

This excellent and robust set of chairs offer great comfort in use with a generous 48cm (18.9") seat height and a wide seat pad. The seats have recently been recovered and presently wear a quality textile, with matching brocade, which is in superb condition.

The framing is strong throughout the set and suitable for daily use.

Supplied cleaned, waxed and ready for the home.
