A magnificent set of four George III elm dining chairs in excellent condition dating from circa 1770s. The arched top rails above trefoil pierced vase form splats and drop in seats, re-covered, on square chamfered legs with H-form stretchers. A substantial and sturdy country made set of period chairs with a pleasing colour and lots of character. The drop-in seats have been newly recovered in a pale grey fabric over the existing upholstery which is in fair condition.
