19th Century satinwood and ormolu mounted bookcase incorporating gilt plaster casts of the Parthenon frieze, these were done by the Scottish sculptor John Henning (1771-1851), Henning got permission from Lord Elgin to carve slate moulds of the Parthenon frieze so he could make these plaster casts.

The top frieze is from the south side of the Parthenon.

The bottom frieze is from the cellar of the west portico of the Parthenon.
