Exquisitely hand painted spray of flowers adorn the centre of this beautiful tazza. Both the top and foot have a wavy rim and the borders decorated with a dark blue ground. Ideal to show off the richngilding which is both flat and 'jewelled'.

The folwer painting is particularly fine. Look closely to see the individual petals, trailing stems, colour variations etc.

Under the base we find the backstamp for the Royal Crown Derby factory which is regarded as among the best in England. (Many people think it is the best and it is widely collected). Fortunately we can trace the exact date of manufacture from the backstamp/ If you look carefully at the mark you will notice at the bottom a diamond shape with an upright to each end. This is the factory date mark for 1898.

The tazza is in very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, or, repairs. There are a few small areas of gilt loss which can be seen in the photos. They are slight and mentioned only for complete accuracy.
