Good quality Rosewood writing slope with military style brass corners and recessed handles.The box has a full length drawer to the base which can only be accessed by removing the pin which locks it in place when the box is closed. It also benefits from new tooled leather on the slope.

The brass plate to the top of the box suggests it belonged to the Rev. F. Orton.
