Early 19th.c. rosewood bookcase c.1840. Inverted breakfront design, the open centre section fitted with two shelves flanked with side cupboards each with a single shelf behind brass grills (shelf depth 11″). Highly figured rosewood veneers to the top, front and sides. Crossbanded edge to the top, raised moulding and particularly attractive door grills with curving elements to make an unusual elliptical pattern. Raised on a plinth also veneered to match. Patch repairs to the top otherwise very good colour and condition. Cleaned and polished in our workshops.
