Rosewood bookcase C1830
Rosewood bookcase circa 1830. The glazed bookcase with original glass. Internally it has two shelves. The lower section has an upper drawer and two doors which open to reveal a pull out shelf. Good mellowed lightly sunbleached front has created a desirable colouring. Evidence indicating this was previously owner by the private bank now called 'C.Hoare & Co'. A label almost unreadable with dirt was found on the inside of the upper drawer. It has been cleaned and its edges tidied and reads 'Messrs. Hoare, Fleet Street' (see photo).
The upper section is detachable from the base making it easier to transport.
Dimensions in cm : Upper glazed section W:88.5 x D:28, x H:109. Top plinth : W:93.5 D:32. Max internal depth of an item that can be stored on shelves : 25.5. Base section: H86.5 x D43.5 x W92. Returns

Antique furniture is old and we have done our best to describe any major faults. The buyer should expect imperfections such as shrinkage cracks/gaps, slight warping, repairs to structure and veneers, extinct woodworm holes and surface wear/marks/repairs that are consistent with age. These features are to be expected on genuine antiques and add to their character and historical honesty. It is quite usual also for handles, drawer bottoms/runners, feet and other component parts to be worn or replaced over the years. Unless otherwise stated there is unlikely to be a key and the locks may or may not exist/work. Please contact us before buying and we will send additional photos and do our best to describe the item honestly. Even better you are welcome to come and view the item before buying. Just get in contact to make an appointment.
