Robert Thompson ‘Mouseman’ Oak Bookcase
Constructed out of beautiful solid chunky slices of English character Oak this medium sized bookcase was made in the famous workshop in Kilburn Yorkshire of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson one of Britain's best loved cabinetmakers of the past 100 years. His original workshop still remains in the family and is called "Robert Thompson's Craftsmen Ltd" in North Yorkshire.
This piece dates to the late 1970's to Early 1980's and is a version of the solid Oak Bookcase code ref. DB020 which can still be ordered today at a list price of £2930.00....the only difference between our one on offer is that the bottom shelf has sliding glass doors....which are correct to its original manufacture, and the price!!
In very clean and undamaged condition it retains four adjustable shelfs which are easily raised or lower in height using little turned oak pegs, and of course the presence of the iconic small carved mouse 'trademark' about to scurry up the right handside of the bookcase.
As a practical pice of antique furniture it will happily hold a large collection of books or files....but also have generous shelves which will accommodate all manner of collectables, photographs etc.
A smart bookshelf that with its pedigree will all have a strong following in the marketplace....so grab yourself a useful furniture item from an Iconic British workshop.
