Ridgway Porcelain Coffee Cup & Saucer 2/739
A pretty Ridgway bone china porcelain London shape coffee cup and saucer, c1825. Painted in pattern number 2/739 with a rich mazarine blue shaped border with small reserves at the rim painted in peach enamel. Over gilded with stars, rings and Greek key type shapes. The centres well painted in bright enamels with sprays of garden flowers and trailing gilt flowering vines. The cup with further gilt decoration around the outside and handle. Both pieces marked in pattern number 2/739 in red and puce enamel.
The cup measures 5.7cm (2 1/4") high to the rim and 8.4cm (3 5/16") rim to rim. The saucer measures 2.8cm (1 1 1/8") high and 14cm (5 1/2").
In good condition: the cup has a hairline to the rim. A small chip to the saucer foot rim but it appears to be from manufacture. No other damage or repair and just minor handling wear. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
