Richard Britton Gouache Northern Cardinals 1970s
We are pleased to offer for sale this charming and meticulously detailed gouache/watercolour by the artist Richard Britton, who has signed the painting to the lower right hand corner. The painting depicts a pair of Northern Cardinal birds (Cardinalis cardinalis) perched on an old post and a nearby bramble. The male is a handsome, colourful songbird, although his mate is also very attractive.
