1 of 5
A Fine Regency Watercolour of the charming Ardilly House, Kenmare, Ireland, attributed to Frederick Calvert (1793-1852).
Frederick Calvert was an Irish artist, born in Cork, who after moving to London in 1827 became known for his marine paintings. Earlier in his career, however, he concentrated on landscape, such as this beautifully painted Ardilly House & grounds, a good example of watercolour landscape painting of the period.
