Regency Style Mahogany Three Pillar Dining Table

1 of 6
A super quality Regency style three pillar solid mahogany extending dining table by the late master cabinetmaker, William Tillman, and dating to c.1980. This super quadripartite triple pedestal table has a rounded rectangular top with a reeded edge and is raised on three ‘gun barrel’ turned columns with downswept reeded sabre legs fitted with brass toes and castors. Two leaves can be added or removed as required to suit the occasion making this a versatile dining table which can comfortably seat up to 14. This would have been a very expensive table when originally purchased.
In good condition, some marks and signs of age as to be expected. William Tillman label to the underside. This is the more desirable form of this style of table as the four legs to the pedestals make it more stable and the rounded rectangular shape seats more people than an oval version. Pedestal antique tables are probably one of the most practical dining tables to have, the legs are out of the way of guests knees and they can also be easily taken apart for moving or placing at the side of the room to make room for dancing.

William Tillman of Crouch Lane, Borough Green, Kent
William Tillman was making fine reproduction antique furniture from the 1970s until his retirement at the end of the 1990s and his work is considered to be of the highest quality and collected throughout the world. It has been sold in all of the famous London Stores including Harrods, Peter Jones and Maples and will almost certainly be considered important antique furniture of the future.
Every piece of furniture was produced with the utmost skill and knowledge to ensure that the finished article would bear the most critical comparison with the original. Whilst the polish used was resistant to heat and water, the finished surface has a wax patination similar to that found on early antique furniture.
Tillman pieces won the British Furniture Manufacturers, Showpiece of the Year award in three consecutive years.
Source: Please appreciate all our items are antique and as such may have minor scratches, marks, knocks, shrinkage splits signs of old woodworm, and minor losses to veneer, which combine with care and years of polishing to create an individual character and patina. We cannot describe each marks separately and therefore suggest you do take the time to request extra photos. We do offer a 14 day money back guarantee for UK purchases but cannot refund the return shipping cost.
