We are offering for sale this interesting, bust length oil portrait on canvas from the Regency period. On the back of the stretcher is inscriber 'Tuck Family Portrait'. Unfortunately, there is nothing more. The portrait depicts a young gentleman from a reasonably affluent family, who appears to be in his early thirties. He has dark hair, parted on the left and quite short and has side whiskers. He is wearing the typical high-necked white shirt of the period, a patterned stock held in place with a pin, a patterned waistcoat or 'weskit' with lapels and a dark coloured jacket. The painting is unsigned.

The painting has been newly framed in a 5" ornate dull gilt frame. It will be supplied wired and ready to hang.

Medium: Oils on unlined canvas

Condition: Very good. The canvas is unlined, the surfact is clean and there are no repairs or missing paint. There is overall fine craquelure and faint stretcher marks consistent with age.
