This is a superb quality single Regency mahogany & king wood marquetry inlaid bedside, cabinet circa 1800.

This is a superb quality single Regency mahogany & king wood marquetry inlaid bedside, cabinet circa 1800. The base material is mahogany. On top of this, the bedside is profusely inlaid with stunning and very decorative kingwood, harewood, satinwood and rosewood to the top, sides, front and legs. Even the tray shelf below is inlaid. The top is inlaid with satinwood banding. The sides are inlaid with king wood and satinwood. The legs are inlaid with rosewood. This bedside features a hinged working door with its original brass handle. Below, there is a working oak lined hand dovetailed drawer, which also features its original brass round handle and escutcheon. The bedside sits on elegant tapered legs and below the inlaid tray shelf is connected to all four legs to give additional stability.
This bedside cabinet would look great in a variety of rooms from the hallway, to the living room or bedroom. They have a lovely patina, which has been generated by the years of cleaning and care they have received.
Condition Report
This bedside cabinet is in very good conditional and is commensurate with its age. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The drawer is smooth running and close flush to the frame. The dovetailed drawer lining is constructed of solid oak. The cabinet features its original brass handles. Free of woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.
