Handsome Regency mahogany secretaire chest of drawers in excellent condition with normal marks and scuffs commensurate with age and use. All the drawers have delicate string inlay decoration, original oval handles and run smoothly. The top drawer front, drops opens to reveal an interior fitted with pigeon holes, drawers and a small lockable cupboard. These are all decorated with fine string inlay and constructed with dovetail joints. The cupboard door is beautifully inlaid with a depiction of Britannia and hides some secret compartments. An extremely well made chest with a beautiful colour and patina, offering storage and work space to any home/ office.
