Beautiful Regency mahogany linen press c.1820. Two door cupboard top fitted with five sliding shelves for clothes or linen over a useful chest of two short and two long drawers of graduated depth. Crisply moulded ogee cornice, doors with symmetrically matched panels within crossbanded surrounds on mahogany groundwork and with a reeded brass centre trim. Matched veneers to the drawer fronts with cockbeeded edges and each retaining their original spectacular brass handles with unusual moulded backplates and large hoop grips. Shaped and crossbanded apron and feet to the front and sides. Superior quality with solid mahogany sides and linings plus cedar bottoms to the drawers. Lovely mellow colour and excellent condition. Simply cleaned and waxed in our workshops, key supplied.
Splits into two pieces for ease of delivery. The slides could be replaced with a hanging rail if preferred.
