Regency Mahogany Inlaid Bow-Front Chest of Drawers
This attractive chest of drawers dates from approx. 1820. It is in need of some tidying and restoration work. The chest has lovely flame mahogany veneers with ebony and satinwood inlays. It is bow-fronted and consists of four graduated drawers. All the drawers retain their locks, but please note that no key is present. The drawers have brass handles that are later replacements. The chest is supported on swept bracket feet with a shaped lower apron at the front and sides.
Condition Overall this handsome piece is in usuable condition, but does have some wear consistent with age and use and would benefit from some restoration work. There is some scuffing, knocking and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and the piece is overall a little faded. There are some areas of wood loss, and some cracking, chipping and loss to the veneers and inlay. There is some staining and scratching to the top. There are some areas of old repair and restoration. There is a wood shrinkage split to the right-hand side. There is some heavier cracking to the front legs, which would benefit from repair.
The approx. measurements are as follows
Overall - 92cm high, 108cm wide, 56cm deep (to maximums). Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
