Circa 1815, stylish Regency stained, carved and gilded open bookcase, with a raised centre section and two lower side sections. The top section on the front is framed in and has a gilded bezel and stencilled lines. Beneath this is a gilded moulding and two carved shell shaped motifs. On the left and right are gilded pilasters in the form of ribbing. Inside are 2 adjustable shelves with a moulded edge. On the bottom is an ogee moulding which is gilded on the front and the sides, all standing on an enclosed plinth. The piece is shabby chic in appearance, unusual and stylish.

Size 115cm high x 124cm wide x 28cm deep.
