A good quality and unusual mahogany chiffonier bookcase with writing slide drawer. Standing on turned feet this cabinet has tapered flame mahogany columns attached to the doors which retain the original floated glass panels. The interior with 4 adjustable mahogany faced shelves. Above is a long single drawer with the appearance of 3 drawers, each section has applied brass beading and decorative brass pulls. The drawer opens to reveal a baized lined writing slide with pen trays and ink wells to each side. The back has wonderfully carved and shaped supports with a brass gallery and beading to the shelf and crowned with a shaped and carved up-stand. This cabinet is made from fine figured mahogany it retains the original working locks and keys. It is in good useable condition with 1or 3 bumps and bruises associated with age and use. The base top has a deep bruise and 2 or 3 old ink staines. See last 2 photos for close ups. Sizes- Max.Height...48''...122cm. Base Height...35''...89cm. Width...36.75''...93.5cm.
