This is a wonderful red GPO 1/232 with drawer. The handset is dated 1955 and the base 1956. This telephone is as near perfect as you will ever find. The colour has no fading at all and all the parts are perfect. This one has a very rare rear hanging receiver fitted and is how it came to us. This telephone has been totally stripped down and rebuilt after each part has been cleaned and polished. The internals are all original and are in perfect working order. I have fitted a new handset and rear earpiece cord. The handset cord is the best quality all British manufactured hand plaited braided cord and the earpiece cord is a new old stock original. I have also fitted a GPO specification round plastic line in cord with a UK telephone plug socket. This telephone has been fully tested to dial out and receive perfectly. This one is is good as you will find and with a rear hanging earpiece and in perfect condition an extremely rare item to to find. This model has no internal bell although it can be fitted with a small internal bell at no extra cost. This can be removed at a later date with no damage other than the wiring diagram which could be replaced.
