A splendid and unusual vase by Ray Finch (1914 - 2012), made at the famous Winchcombe Pottery, Gloucestershire.

Thrown in thick stoneware and of a beautiful, waisted form, this impressive vase features an incised decoration under a stunning saltglaze.

This is a very impressive and substantial piece standing some 27cms tall.

Deeply impressed with the potter's personal seal to the side of the base, as shown.

Presented in mint condition.

Good, individual examples of Ray Finch's work in stoneware are now in the ascendancy....and rightly so. A great addition to any studio pottery collection and a sound investment piece.
