Lovely pair of small mahogany "gossip" chairs. Designed by the great Scottish architect Sir Robert Lorimer. The chairs were made by the firm of William Wheeler of Arncroach in Scotland circa 1900. Reference: Scottish Houses and Gardens from the Archives of Country Life by Ian Gow (1997) Pages 50 and 51. A pair of these chairs can be seen in the drawing room at Kellie Castle c1906. All original condition. 17" wide x 30" high x 15" deep. Seat height 12". We always strive to source the best quality and original items for our clients.
