For sale today we have this extremely rare jug by Mark V Marshall for Doulton Lambeth. The highlight of the jug has to be the two amazing grotesque face masks terminals to the handles. Clearly influenced by Marshall's time with the Martin Brothers the bottom one is a slightly deranged looking smiling face while the top one is sadder and more somber in style. The rest of the jug features both tubelining and pigment brush techniques with white, cobalt blue, green and black colouring the dynamic early Art Nouveau design.
Stands 7 3/4" tall x 5" across. Fully marked to the base with monograms for Ethel Beard and Mark Marshall along with a stamped Doulton Labeth "Cog" mark. Dates to circa 1900.

In superb condition being free from any damage or repair.
