Rare Davenport Porcelain Small Coffee Can & Saucer
An unusual small bone china porcelain coffee can and saucer from the Davenport manufactory. With a rich mazarine blue ground with reserves painted in a lemon yellow enamel and copious amounts of ornate gilding including holly style sprigs to the reserves and scallop shells and dentil border over the blue ground. Finished with wide gilt bands around the rims and an acanthus leaf detail to the handle. Rare printed puce mark, "manufacturer to their Majesties", c.1830-1840, and painted pattern number 1029 in gilt.
The cup measures 5.3cm (2 1/16") high and 5.3cm (2 1/16") rim to rim. The saucer measures 12.8cm (5 1/16") wide and 2.9cm (1 1/8") high.
In excellent condition with no damage or repair and minor handling wear, mainly just some stacking wear in the centre of the saucer and slightly to the cup rim. Christmas Posting we are posting up until Monday 23rd December!
