This rare Edwardian locket is fashioned in the shape of the Victoria Cross. We have never seen another locket like this. This splendid antique is embellished with deeply symbolic imagery.

The opening front is ornamented with forget-me-nots and acanthus leaves. The points on the cross are decorated with ivy leaves. Acanthus leaves and forget-me-nots also grace the other side of the locket as well as an elegant scroll.

Forget-me-nots symbolise true love and respect. Acanthus leaves represent longevity. Ivy leaves are used convey devotion, fidelity and loyalty. Wisdom is depicted by scrolls.

The interior contains the original photographs, photo frames and clear portrait protectors. The photograph on the left gives a clear image of a young man. On the other side the photo is difficult to view. It looks as though two young children are being cuddled by their mother.

The beautiful necklace is stamped 9c (9 carat gold) in several places.
