Queen Anne Walnut Bureau Bookcase c.1710
A Walnut country made Bureau Bookcase dating from circa 1710. A superb piece of furniture for any house, giving masses of storage. It is filled with pigeon holes, drawers and compartments, including a sliding compartment underneath the fall. The colour is gorgeous, shining with 300 years of patina. Two candle slides pull out from under the mirrored doors and it has a book rest on the fall. It also benefits from double D moulding and herringbone inlay.
The bureau was purchased from a handsome Somerset farmhouse where it had stood, with the same family, for over two hundred years. During that time it had lost its finials and the bun feet were damaged by dry rot, so these have had to be replaced. As expected the handles have been changed, but everything else appears to be original.
The height to the top of the finials is 88" (223 cm) The width is 39.5" (100 cm) and the depth is 22" (56 cm) It comes in two parts and the finials can be removed for transport. All items are sold with a 14 day money back guarantee. In the unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase, we will gladly issue a refund (excluding carriage costs). The item must be returned in the same condition as it left us. The refund will be issued on the item's return to our premises.
