A stunning quality early 19th.c. silver chest c.1830, made for storing valuable table ware, cutlery and the household silver. This is particularly fine example with a solid single piece mahogany top with a shaped edge and solid mahogany sides. The stunning flame mahogany veneers on the doors are again laid onto solid mahogany panels. Opening the cabinet reavels the beatuful interior with wonderfully snug fitting drawers which, after almost 200 years, still open and close with a faultless action and a useful bit of cupboard space for bottles or a large table centre. Solid mahogany drawer fronts, sides, base and backs. Retaining the original gilded brass handles, original hinges, catches, lock and key. Beautiful colour and condition.
