Quality Antique Burr Walnut Lowboy / Desk
A quality antique burr walnut lowboy writing desk on cabriole legs. This very good quality lowboy dating from 1900's has a rectangular top with a faded black leather and gilt tooled insert with a crossbanded edge below which are two oak lined drawers veneered in burr walnut with a crossbanded edge and herringbone inlay.
Each drawer has a endgrain moulded edge with engraved brass backplate handes, rope edged escutcheons and central brass lock. The antique lowboy is raised on carved cabriole legs with shell on the knee and pad feet above which the corners are canted and reeded.
A lovely quality example with a mellow honey colour that has been restored using traditional methods. This lowboy is also freestanding as the back is veneered and polished.
