Quality 19th C Japanese Satsuma Vase
Wonderful quality 19th Century Japanese satsuma vase. This delightful vase has a central picture of a cockrel set amidst flowering chrysanthamums. The white bird has a raised white enamelled body and the white chrysanthamum is also white enamelling. This little vase is highly decorated and typically satsuma vases offer some of the best artwork on pottery as they are gloriously detailed. The hand painted border is rich golds with symetrical designs around the neck and base in raised enamelling.
The height of the vase is 5 inches with the widest body point being 3 inches. Underneath the piece is signed to the base (as shown in picture).
Lovely condition.
