Pair of Welsh Lovespoon Sugar tongs - Treen

A delightful pair of late 19thC North Wales sugar tongs. Carved as love tokens and gifted in the same manner as love spoons or even given as thank you gifts. They feature similar chip carving and pierced decoration such as the hearts.
Inset with glass panels the giftor could add the name of the recipient. This one having the name Mrs Edwards beautifully inked in calligraphy with the reverse side Easter 1927.
In excellent condition with just a small crack to the hinge as is common with these, original throughout with lovely colour.
Length 6.5" = 16cm
