Pair Of Walnut Cabriole Leg Side Chairs.
This is a fine pair of 19th Century burr walnut side chairs.
Often referred to as 'Queen Anne', these are George 1st in style.
They are made of solid straight grain walnut and have burr walnut veneers to the face of the back, the splat and the seat rails.
The splats have a well defined curved profile, or rake, and the cabrioles are nicely balanced with 'C' scrolls, and shell decorations to the knees.
The drop in seat frames have been newly upholstered and covered in Imari chenile cream fabric.
(New webbing, and all fire retardant materials - rubberised hair, calico and black cloth. hand tacked throughout in the traditional manner, no staples)
Condition: Excellent. Fine honey coloured patination. Joints all strong and sound.
The walnut has had some old woodworm - long gone, treated and holes filled.

Height 95cm, Width 56cm, Depth 52cm. Seat height 47cm
