Circa 1890, pair of Qing dynasty Chinese lacquered chairs. With raised solid backs and shaped tops with painted scenes of landscapes and florals. There is foliate carving beneath this and black fretwork in gilded brackets, with 2 thin arms that have further fretwork brackets to the inside and outside. Standing on square legs with reeded fore-edges, profusely painted and with further open fretwork brackets, supported by stretchers. They have their original design or stock number painted to each chair in white. A deep brown colour or red wash can be seen coming through in areas.
