Pair Of Oak Book Design Bookends, c.1930s Bookends Oak %%alt5%%
These 1930s oak bookends would make a stylish (and entirely appropriate!) addition to any book shelf. They have the Art Deco style elements of geometric bases and the three stepped volumes forming the book support but in addition they are very nicely turned and grooved to give the appearance of three books on each side.

Although they have clearly had some use, condition is good with just a couple of scuff marks low down on the base of the right hand bookend. They have a great colour and lovely patina from many years of cleaning and polishing. They look just as effective today as they would have done 80 or 90 years ago. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The bookends are 16.5cm tall at their highest point. The bases are 14.9cm deep and 8.4cm wide. Together they weigh 1.33kg, so are sturdy enough to support quite heavy books. They are a perfectly matched pair.
